This year we are offering a 5K course that is certified to be accurate by USATF #NY16125KL. The event is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5 at 301 North St., Batavia. It is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and helps to support YWCA’s Domestic Violence Crisis & Prevention Services program. The 5K has lots of prizes, music, family fun, and more!
We are hosting a food and can/bottle drive for our Safe House, which accommodates domestic violence victims in need of a secure shelter. Please bring your empty cans and bottles and/or unperishable food items and receive a purple pinky or painted purple ribbon for your donation! Suggestions: Canned tuna, salmon or chicken, pasta, mac ‘n’ cheese, cereal, soup, peanut butter, jelly, shelf-stable milk, tomato sauce, canned vegetables.
