For More than 20 years, YWCA has set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence – One week when YWCA’s across the country join with YWCA’s around the world as part of a global movement to end gender-based violence.
Through our work as the largest network of domestic and sexual violence services providers in the U.S., we know that not all violence is acknowledged or responded to equally, and that some victims go unrecognized altogether. Our focus on gender-based violence – which recognizes a spectrum of violence, including but not limited to, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, trafficking and harassment – allows us to address, educate, and take action around a myriad of issues that impact our communities.
At YWCA, we imagine a world without violence. We know that together, we can end gender-based violence. We invite you to join us for Week Without Violence 2021. We will post updates on what we are doing for Week Without Violence and how you can participate soon!
One universal hashtag helps unite us and keep our message consistent, unified, and cohesive throughout Week Without Violence. Please use the hashtag #WWV21 for anything on social media related to Week Without Violence. You can download our fill-able posters to take selfie’s with below:
